Firewire Cards
You can add a firewire card to your system to allow you to connect devices like external hard drives, camcorders, and many other devices. The card is easy to install and configure. We recommend the Adaptec USB 2.0/1394 Combo Card PCI 3-Port USB 2.0 & 2-Port Firewire MAC/PC (1923200). One great feature of the card is that it includes 3 USB 2.0 and 2 Firewire high speed ports in one add on card.
A firewire card is a necessity if you will be doing any type of video editing from a digital camcorder. Video editing software will also be required. We have a review of our preferred video editing software on our video editing software page.
