Installing The Network Cards
Installing the Network Card Drivers
The network card will not work until you have installed a driver inside of Windows. In order to install the drivers follow the instructions below.
Turn on the computer and boot into Windows.
The Windows add new hardware dialog box will come up.
Windows may have the drivers built in if the network card is plug and play compatible with Windows. If it is not, you will need to insert the driver disk that came with the network card. If you do not have this disk, then you should go to the manufacturer's website and download the appropriate drivers.
If you have the required driver for the network card on a disk, then you can use the Hardware Wizard to install the driver.
When the device is detected, the Hardware Wizard will start up. Choose the option to "Install the software automatically (Recommended)" by choosing the appropriate check box and then insert the disk that you received from the hardware manufacturer.
Windows will search for the driver. If the wizard does not start searching, click Next.
After a moment or so, Windows will find the driver and automatically install the appropriate driver for your hardware.
Once the installation is done, click Finish.
Reboot your computer.
